Basic gameplay[]

Muse Dash's gameplay consists of tapping the screen to the beat of the rhythm, players can choose to either play in a left and right held position (described by the game as "a control mode suitable for starters or leisure players."); or up and down ("a control mode suitable for advanced players.) The player can choose from three different Muses before entering a song map, the first Muse the player has access to is Bassist Rin then Buro then Marija. After each song the player is awarded with experience points towards their total level, when a player achieves a level up they are given items that go towards either unlocking a Muse, an Elfin, or an unlockable picture.

Each song consists of the player tapping the screen to make the controllable Muse hit an oncoming enemy or avoid an oncoming obstacle such as a buzz saw in the ground, on successful hit of an enemy the player is awarded points towards the Fever Gauge; once the Fever Gauge is filled the player will enter Fever Mode.
